Description
Discovered by William Baylor Hartland in Cork, Ireland in about 1890. Received the Award of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1910. Fruits are firm, sweet with little juice, and the flavour is slightly aromatic with more than a hint of banana! Northern Pomona says that this variety is "more likely to succeed in wetter parts of Britain".For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
