Description

Received RHS Award of Merit in 1901. Now generally considered too 'ugly' for commercial use, despite its flavour and quality. This is a wonderful late season dual purpose apple that will keep right through the winter months, sweetening to eat by December. Cooks to a pale yellow puree and needs no extra sugar. Often found in Victorian gardens, this is a deservedly popular fruit, being of large size, medium vigour and a good cropper. This self-sterile dual-purpose Apple is believed to have originated from Kent, UK in 1790
