Betula pendula Whip 40-60cm

2021/22 season now closed. Website will reopen for pre-orders at Easter, for delivery November 2331

This is the variety that you seen in all the woods and fields through out the country, however this should not put you off as it has many uses with in the garden. Has a fairly upright habit with pendulous ends to the branches. The bark becomes white and quite warty with age, often with very clear rings all around the trunk. The leaves are diamond shaped and mid green, turning yellow in the autumn. Makes an excellent windbreak tree. Bears small yellow catkins in spring. Thrives in poor soils and does not take kindly to feeding or mulching.
