Description
With huge long serrated leaves, glossy and bold, Sweet Chestnuts make a fine sight in the summer months. Grow in moist, well-drained soil in sun or part-shade, but do best in warmer, slightly sheltered gardens. A great tree for wildlife - the ctakins provide nectar and pollen for bees, squirrels will feast on the nuts and the leaves are an important food source for some moth species.
