First cultivated by Lord Anson in 1760 at his Hertfordshire home, Moor Park; thought to have originated as a seedling grown from a peach apricot stone; the best known apricot in the UK and the most popular, having good fertility combined with reliability and an outstanding rich flavour; makes an excellent decorative tree; winner of an RHS Award of Garden Merit.
