The True Service Tree (Sorbus Domestica) is a native of southern Europe where it is still cultivated as a fruit crop in some countries. A slow growing and ultimately quite large tree (approx. 15m) which can live to a great age. It is similar in appearance to our native Rowan. Fruit is red-brown in colour and spotted. They should only be consumed once "bletted" or after it has been touched by frost.
