Description

Raised in 1841 by John Williams at Pitmaston, Worcestershire. Huge fruit with a yellow-white juicy melting flesh and an excellent flavour. Nurseryman George Bunyard regarded it as ‘the best and finest market pear’ in 1899. Vigorous growth, good autumn foliage colour. A triploid variety and too vigorous unless there is much space.
