Description

Introduced around 1830 by Mr. Thomas Rivers, a nurseryman of Sawbridgeworth, this makes a small compact tree with small round purple fruit that have a lavender bloom. The flesh is golden yellow, and when fully ripe the fruit make for very pleasant eating - firm but sweet - but is also excellent for cooking and bottling.
