Description

Discovered in Russia, introduced to the UK in the early 1800s. A moderately vigorous tree with decent resistance to scab and mildew, but may be susceptible to canker. Produces medium sized, round-conical fruit, with pale green skin with a white bloom, and juicy, almost white flesh. Quite sharp, refreshing taste. A little too sharp as a dessert apple for most people, but a good culinary variety cooking to a cream coloured puree with good flavour needing little added sugar. This partially self-fertile culinary Apple is believed to have originated from Russia in about 1800
