Colutea arborescens

Description

Bladder senna. Fast growing shrub with pale green leaves with many leaflets. Produces 3-8 pea-like yellow flowers through out the summer, followed by bladder-like, green seed pods up to 8cm (3") long. Well suited to coastal regions although up here it must be grown in a south facing, sheltered border. Height 3m (10ft).
