Description

An outdoor variety of medium upright growth (4m in height) and excellent cold hardiness make this an ideal choice for outdoor cultivation for most of the UK, being one of the earliest figs to crop.

A very close relative of the variety 'Brunswick', with which it shares many of the qualities which make it ideal for growing in the UK. In addition to the hardiness and early ripening, it prodcues wonderful quality fruit, thin skinned and very sweet. Already known and described in the 17th Century, and cultivated at the Palace of Versailles under Louis XIV.
