Salix udensis 'Sekka'

Description

A vigorous shrub which may reach 4m (12 feet), this is an extremely ornament form for those who have room. Widely grown in Japan for the cut-flower market, in early spring this produces very ornamental silver grey catkins on curiously flattened and twisted bright red shoots. The foliage is very elegant - long lance-shaped bright green leave which can turn a vivid yellow in autumn.
