Berberis

A wide and diverse group of plants suited to most parts of the garden. All have spines so be warned. They will grow just about anywhere from full sun to shade and in all types of soil other than very wet. They require very little in the way of pruning. Remove damaged stems from deciduous types in February and from evergreen types immediately after flowering.
