Sorbus scalaris is a species of rowan native to western Sichuan and Yunnan in China where it grows in mixed forests on mountain slopes making a small slightly spreading tree up to 6m in height. The tiny white flowers are held in clusters and seem to be a favourite nectar source for bees in the summer time. It said to be the most attractive small tree among the orange-fruited Rowan species.
