Acer griseum

Description

A classic small tree, the main feature being the wonderful peeling bark in shades of copper and cinnamon which provides for year-round interest. The delicate maple-leaf foliage emerges as a soft bronze-green, becoming green in the summer before changing to a fantastic shade of red-orange in the autumn. Slow-growing, and will make a height of approx. 4m (12ft) after 10 years.
