Description

A beautiful tree suitable for smaller spaces. Broadly upright in habit, with large, 3-lobed, bright green leaves that turn a clear yellow in the autumn. The real treat with this tree is in the winter when the leaves have dropped and you can see the green stems that have very conspicuous white stripes. A native of eastern N. America, first introduced into the UK in 1755, for a long time it was the only snake bark maple known in cultivation with this character and it remains one of the best - the striping on the young stems is extremely handsome.
