Description

The native Sycamore, seen in fields and woods up and down the country. Its easy to grow in the most exposed sites, forming an excellent windbreak. Quickly growing into a large tree, it can reach more than 30m, so allow plenty of space! Sometimes unfairly maligned as a 'weed tree', they are actually quite magnificent when fully grown, and as one of the hardiest tree species and able to stand up to salt-laden gales on exposed coasts deserves a lot more respect than it sometimes gets.
