Description
One of the classic trees for autumn - mahogany conkers enclosed in their spikey green shell. Originally native to the Balkans, it was introduced in to the UK in the late 1500's, and has become a common sight in parkland throughtout the country. In time it will become a large majestic tree, reaching 35m, and can live for over 200 years. Spikes of white flowers, each with a splash of pink at the base, and large palmate leaves, this is a superb statement tree if you have the room.
