Description
A large dual purpose apple, raised in Holland by K.J.W. Ottolander near Gouda in the Netherlands in 1856. An upright growing spur-bearing variety with attractive blossom, the fruit is covered with considerable russet. The creamy coloured flesh cooks to a golden yellow fluff, yet keeps it shape well when cooked. This is a perfect apple for salads being crisp, slightly sweet, and with a mild acid overtone. Being late to fruit and an excellent keeper, it makes a wonderful apple for Christmas. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
