Description

Medium bittersweet cider variety from Lambrook in Somerset producing a sweet, astringent juice, this fairly old variety is a very heavy cropper which gives reliable harvests of good-sized fruit, although the fruit needs to be thinned in July to prevent it cropping biennially. Somerset Redstreak can be used to make a pleasant single variety medium bittersweet cider with soft tannins, and adds depth and flavour to a sharper blend. It has been planted extensively in orchards over the last decades.
