Nashi Pear - Chojuro

£28.50 - £67.50
Chojuro (-+¦or -+ªplentiful-+å), was the first improved Japanese russet pear. Introduced 1895; it is sweet and disease-resistant, and has very heavy crops. Once one of top two varieties with Nijisseiki, but drier than new selections and rarely planted today. Mid-season; Orange-brown when ripe. The flesh is firm, white, and coarse with a mildly sweet and distinctly aromatic flavour, which improves in storage.
