One of the best in the large family of Festucas, 'Amethystina' (or the 'Tufted Fescue') has soft silver-blue leaves with rolled edges, and forms a glaucous mound with arching slender flower stems with greenish to purple or violet flower spikes for more than a month. Ideal as a small-scale specimen at the front of a border or rockery.
