Description
A hardy variety that ripens early, so is therefore suitable to be grown outdoors in much of the UK. It bears medium to large pale fruit which shade yellow when ripe. The flesh is described as opaline' when ripe, and of rich, juicy, and a honeyed flavour - one of the most delicious figs in cultivation. One was introduced into the UK by Cardinal Pole in 1552, and the original tree is still said to be growing at Lambeth Palace, London. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
