Description
Discovered by Mr Allgrove, nursery manager at the famous Veitch's Nursery at Langley, Bucks in 1915. A bud sport from a tree of Jefferson's gage, this shares many of the characteristics - green, sweet fleshed fruits produced on a compact, upright growing tree, but the fruit colour is a dark red, covered in small yellow spots like freckles. An unusual vareity of gage, well worth growing. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
