Description
Raised in Santa Rosa, California in the early 1890s by Mr Luther Burbank, and brought to England by Messrs Bunyard of Maidstone. This is a very reliable variety which fruits prolifically, and has very good frost and disease resistance. The fruit is a wonderful vermillion red with bright green flesh, and although essentially a cooker, this is just acceptable as a dessert when fully ripe. This self-fertile dual-purpose Plum is believed to have originated from California, USA in 1890
