Description

This is a complex hybrid between a black currant (Rubus nigrum) x North American black gooseberry (R. divaricatum), and then between a blackcurrant and European gooseberry (R. uva-crispa) cross!. It should be grown like a Blackcurrant. The near black fruit is smaller than a gooseberry but larger than a blackcurrant, is edible both raw and cooked with a taste midway between a gooseberry and a blackcurrant.
