Description
A very attractive apple, with bright red shiny skin, very juicy crisp flesh and a pleasant flavour. Raised in Sweden at the Balsgard Fruit Breeding Institute in 1947 from a cross between James Grieve and Worcester Pearmain, this is an excellent pollinator of other varieties and produces abundant crops of 'lunch-box' sized apples making it a favourite for lunch boxes. The high juice yields and crisp flavour make it suitable for juicing and as well as a sweet single varietal cider apple. This self-sterile dessert Apple is believed to have originated from Balsgard, Sweden in 1947
