Malus tschonowskii
£30.00 - £60.00
An attractive, strong growing tree of erect conical habit. The autumn colour is breath-taking, orange, yellow, scarlet and purple - no other crab comes close in terms of leaf colour in September. In spring bears pink-flushed white flowers followed by small red-flushed green fruit, but produces far fewer fruit than other species of Malus. A native of Japan and discovered at the foot of Fujiyama, plants were first sent back to Kew Gardens in 1897.
