Miscanthus nepalensis (The Himalayan Fairy grass) is a deciduous ornamental variety growing to no more than 1m in height with arching linear leaves that start off green in springtime, and fade to bronze in winter. It bears terminal panicles of pale yellow spikelets from mid-summer onwards that develop into golden-yellow seed-heads in autumn, and finally turn brownish-yellow in winter.
