Mulching is probably the most overlooked part of planting any new tree. Drought and competition from grass and weeds is the single greatest cause of new trees failing to establish. Mulching helps overcome this by sealing in moisture, reducing evaporation and blocking out light to stop weeds germinating. Our mulch mats are a clean, simple and 100% biodegradable - made from 100% natural materials and no plastics. They allow rain to permeate through, but help retain moisture in times of drought. They degrade naturally over the course of a couple of years, by which time your tree has established. Supplied as 50cm squares. Secure with biodegradable pegs (available separately).
