Description
Introduced in 1928 by the Laxton's nursery of Bedford, this is a very heavy cropper with reddish-purple fruit which are only slightly smaller than Victoria (and which has Victoria as one of its parents). It is self-fertile and prolific, and the fruit has a fine flavour, being juicy and keeping for quite a long time. Typically only used for cooking, it keeps well without deterioration. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
