Description
Quercus palustris
£45.00
Or Pin Oak, is a tall slightly pendulate tree in its maturity, growing up to 20m (70ft). And, although it is successful in cultivation in Europe, it is more usually found in botanical collections. The wood is hard and strong and used for construction. The deep-lobed leaves, which bear tufts of hairs on the vein axils, turn scarlet to mid-brown in autumn, and the acorns which mature in two years are almost spherical.
