Description
A mid-season variety that lives up to its name, and produces large yields of sweet fruits with good colour and shape to them. They last for a long time on the plant and it has a longer than average picking season. Glen Ample has a good level of disease resistance, and is spine-free for easy picking.Grown in Yorkshire.
We grow a huge range of soft fruit in our fields here in the Vale of Pickering - we offer over 80 varieties of gooseberry alone, many of which we are the only nursery in the country to grow. We propagate new plants using the traditional methods of stool beds, or by hardwood cuttings taken in autumn. The young plants are grown on, carefully weeded and pruned, until they are finally ready for sale as bare root plants. Our soft fruit plants are supplied as either bare root plants (gooseberries, blackcurrants, raspberries, rhubarb and strawberries) or in pots (blackberries, hybrid berries, blueberries) during the winter months (between November and March). Plants are lifted to order, sent out within 24 hours of being lifted, and packed with extreme care so they arrive with you in perfect condition ready for planting. Please be aware that there may be a delay in sending your plants to you. At the start of lifting in November we will already have a long queue of customers waiting for their plants which have been pre-ordered over the summer months. We will always do our best to fit in with your timing schedule, but at busy periods in the year this may not always be possible. We endeavour to send out orders at a time which is good for planting.
Please see the ‘Delivery’ tab for more information on methods of delivery, or how to arrange collection from the nursery.

Our compost is a top-quality professional peat-free blend supplied by Melcourt – consistently voted the best peat-free compost in trials by Which? Magazine. It includes a slow-release fertiliser which will last until mid-summer.Help and Advice:
