Description

Easily recognisable form of willow, native to much of western Europe. Catkins up to 7cm in length are produced in early spring, followed by large oval foliage which is a valuable food source for several species of butterfly and moth. Thrives in damper soils. Unusually for a willow, this species does not root readily from cuttings. Height: up to 10m
