Description

The native tree that has become a hugely popular garden and town tree. Has pinnate leaves up to 20cm (8") long with paired, stalkless, leaflets with sharp, forward pointing teeth. The foliage can be quite sparse so allowing grass to flourish underneath. Has creamy-white clusters of flowers in May. In the autumn the leaves turn a reddish-brown and round, bright red fruits are borne in clusters. This is a graceful tree much loved by both people and birds.
