Nassella (or Stipa) tenuissima 'Ponytails' is a selected form of a well-known deciduous grass, growing to 60cm, and forming a compact upright tuft of tightly in-rolled leaves, and arching, feathery flowering panicles in summer which start off greenish-white in colour, but fade to a creamy-buff colour in autumn. The name 'Ponytails' accurately describes its autumn appearance.
