We've had a late start to the bare root season, due to the very mild autumn weather. Smaller plants such as roses and younger fruit trees are now dormant, but some of the bigger trees will not be ready until early December. We are now trying to catch up and despatch existing orders as fast as we can, but the very wet ground conditions are unfortunately not helping. For new orders for shrubs, ornamental trees, fruit trees and nuts we are currently working on a 4 week turnaround. New orders for roses we are currently despatching within 5 working days of receiving the order. Any queries, please contact the office and we will do our best to help.

The Top Fruit, Soft Fruit and Nut tree sections are now updated and allow you to pre-order plants for delivery between November 2023 and March 2024. This damp summer weather has not been to everyone's delight, but it has certainly helped our trees grow away strongly this year - the crop which will be ready for lifting in November is looking fantastic.

Our fresh crop of 50,000 roses is now available to order as bare root plants for immediate delivery. All our roses are grown here in the Vale of Pickering by our team of highly experienced nurserymen, and between November and March we can lift them and send them out to your door. Before the invention of pastic pots, buying bare root roses, trees and shrubs was the traditional method of planting - plants tend to have better root systems (and be slightly more economical) than when pot-grown. Plant soon after arrival and your rose will start to establish a root system over the winter, and then grow away strongly next year. Next July your garden could be full of wonderful colour and glorious scent!
