Description
A very fast growing, tough and hardy tree. Is much more ornamental than most as it bears very conspicuous clusters of lime green flowers in the spring, just before the leaves come out. The leaves are large, pale to bright green with deeply cut edges. In autumn they turn a clear, deep yellow before dropping. The winged fruits often remain on tree right through the winter. Native to much of continental Europe and has been cultivated in the UK for centuries. Thrives in any soil, and is one of the hardiest of any trees which have been introduced into the UK.
