Description

" The beautiful is always bizarre" - Charles Baudelaire. The famous French poet might well have been speaking about this lovely allium (although unlikely, as he died in 1867). Thin, wiry stems produce curious flower 'heads' in early summer, which are composed of garnet red bulbils at the base with protruding, purple florets. The whole effect is a little gawky and awkward, but utterly charming. Height 110cm.
