Description

One of the best from these new Long Ashton selections, and introduced as a new bittersweet cider variety at Long Ashton Research Station, where trees were named in rows. And, as this apple grew in row 10, and was tree number 66 - hence it got its name from the Battle of Hastings 1066! Produces good regular crops of large fruit, making sweet astringent and slightly acidic juice.
