Description
First recorded around 1600. It was so named because of its unique shape! Cooks to a robust flavoured, slightly perfumed puree, needing a little additional sugar. The fruit is large, shiny, strongly red-striped, and stores well for several months. Flavour mellows with time to an excellent brisk eating apple, or ideal for enlivening salads. For help with choosing the correct rootstock for your needs, please click here A Guide to Rootstocks
