Description

An old Scottish summer apple with a sharp savoury flavour. The flattened bright red fruits have soft, dry, yellowish white flesh with a sweet flavour. Possibly named ‘thorle’ or ‘whorle’ after the shape of the fly-wheel on the spindle of a spinning wheel.
