Betula albosinensis 'Septentrionalis'

Description

Also known as the Chinese Red Birch, this is a medium-sized deciduous tree of conical and open habit, with attractive orange-brown bark which peels back to expose the white trunk beneath. The slender yellow-brown catkins open in spring time at the same time as the pale oval leaves which turn yellow in autumn. Height to 25m (80ft) in maturity.
