Betula papyrifera Whip 100-125cm (W)

2021/22 season now closed. Website will reopen for pre-orders at Easter, for delivery November 2321

An underused yet highly decorative conical tree. When young the stems are reddish-brown, covered in copious lighter dots. As the tree matures the bark becomes white and starts to peel in large layers, revealing the new pale orange-brown skin underneath. As the name suggests the bark really does look like paper as it peels off. Bears yellow catkins in spring and dark green leaves that turn brilliant hues of yellow and orange.
