Description
Regarded as one of the best single perry varieties with medium acidity and medium tannin; it gives a lemony fragrance to perry juices although is often blended with other varieties. Thought to be a cross between Red Longdon and Thorn perry pears, it is a vigorous, sturdy, reliable and a heavy cropper; and is named after the village of Blakeney in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
