Description

Deciduous shrub grown for its spectacular rich, velvety purple foliage. In mid summer bears insignificant flowers followed by grey, fruiting plumes, giving the plant the appearance of being covered in puffs of smoke. In the autumn the leaves turn a rich red colour before dropping. Height 3m (10ft).
