Description

Looking like no other Fritillaria this is a striking and unique flower. Has masses of grey-green leaves, including many up the flower stem, that can reach as high as 1m (3ft) in good conditions. The flower head can be up to 25cm (10") long with as many as 30 deep purple bells. It is wise to stake the flower stem to prevent it toppling over under its own weight.
