Description

An excellent winter pear., this was raised by one of the pioneers of pear breeding, Abbe Hardenpoint of Mons, Belgium in about 1750 and introduced into Britain in about 1820. Medium to large pea green fruit which turn to a pale yellow, this has white tender juicy flesh with a lovely pear flavour especially after a good summer. It prefers a light soil, and to allow the best flavour to develop, plant in a sunny sheltered position.
