Description

Traditional English cider variety offering a full bittersweet juice. Bred by nurseryman Harry Masters of Woolston, Somerset, and thought to be a seedling of the same parentage as Yarlington Mill, discovered around 1900 in Devon. Fruit is dark red, with soft astringency, a popular cider choice. Forms a compact bushy tree which gives good annual yields, though has a tendency toward biennial bearing. Also known around the Glastonbury area as Port Wine. This Apple is believed to have originated from Devon, UK before 1920
