Description

Intense sweet, rich, spicy flavour; flesh is white, melting and juicy; equal or superior to Beurre d'Anjou in dessert quality; growth is moderately vigorous and crops are reasonably heavy; an excellent and desirable pear. Originated as Fertilia Delwinor raised by the Delbard Nursery in France in the mid 20th C, but didn’t make its appearance in the UK until 2004 when it was renamed Invincible by FP Matthews nursery. A hardy and reliable variety that is self-fertile and an excellent choice for cold, more exposed sites where other pears would struggle.
